Smoke detector obligation from July 1, 2022
From July 1, 2022, it is mandatory in the Netherlands to have a smoke detector on every residential floor in your home and in enclosed spaces through which an escape route runs. The Building Decree is being amended, making compliance a legal requirement. This applies to both owner-occupied and rental homes, and to both existing and new construction.
Easy installation
This smoke detector – with a diameter of 7.6 cm – comes complete with a base plate, a 3M sticker, and screws and plugs for simple and quick mounting. It is best to screw it to the ceiling. It can also be attached using the included 3M sticker. The smoke detector is also suitable for magnetic mounting, for example with the Alecto MK-2 (not included). Due to its flat size and sleek design, it is hardly noticeable. Unless it goes off, of course.
Should the alarm go off unnecessarily, for example while cooking or having a barbecue, use the hush or pause button. With a single press of the button, the sensor's sensitivity is temporarily reduced, effectively pausing the alarm.
Extensively tested
The Alecto SA50 smoke detector has been extensively tested and meets the stringent requirements of EN14604:2005/AC:2008. This is the international test standard for smoke detectors. Naturally, it is wise to test your smoke detector yourself every now and then. For this purpose, it is equipped with a test and reset button. Press once and this small smoke detector reveals what it is capable of.
